Angel Island

March 2007

Seven scouts and five adults went on the awesome trip to Angel Island.  We caught the Tiburon Ferry on Saturday morning and enjoyed the short ride to the Island.  Two scouts and one adults took the long route to the campout to meet the Camping Merit Badge requirement of backpacking 4 miles.  The others took the shorter 1+ mile route to the camp site.  It was cool and foggy so the sites of the city were not the greatest. Our camp site was blocked from the wind though so we were protected.  Once settled in everyone took a hike around the island enjoying the sites and goofing off.  The sun finally came out for a while.  Dinner was the famous Francisco Chicken Jambalaya, always a hit, but the Oreo cookies went even faster!  Those scouts like their sweets!  The boys had a lot of fun just playing at the batteries near the camp site.  This trip has always been popular and I would do it again!
