Troop 259 is looking at 2012 as a year of growth and development and we are off to a great start!
We welcome back Bill Kirk as the Troop Scoutmaster for another year of outdoor activities, leadership development, and skill challenges. Cindy Kazee is also returning as Committee Chair, and she is looking forward to working with the outstanding parents of the troop. We are fortunate to have Rob Fong continue as the Advancement Coordinator, helping the scouts to progress through their rank advancements. Outdoor Activities Coordinator Todd Thompson is another returning adult leader who will share his vast knowledge and experience with the troop.
New to the duty of Secretary this year is Lyndon Thomson. Denise Yoshikawa has graduated her son from the scouting program and has stepped down after many years of service. Thank you for all that you do, Denise! We are happy to hear you will continue to be an active part of our troop.
Also new to the troop leadership is Spencer Kwong. He has stepped up to serve as the Adult Training Coordinator and will maintain our records for training as well as recommend training as it is made available to our leaders. Spencer made the jump from Committee Member to Assistant Scoutmaster this year as well.
After two years as the troop Popcorn Kernel, Allison Fong is taking on the district responsibilities for that role. No doubt she will achieve the same success on a much grander scale. Thank you to Jennifer Jimenez for volunteering to take over the troop Popcorn Kernel position in 2012. Damon Jimenez will be serving as a Patrol Parent for the newest patrol in the troop. The Jimenez family is new to Troop 259 but has plenty of BSA experience to lend us.
Thank you to all the dedicated and talented adults who bring our program to life! We could not do what we do without your gifts.
